An early childhood teacher from Charlotte, North Carolina, got a windfall while lamenting her bad luck during the 2020 pandemic.
Adapting the New York Post Wednesday (30/12) a man named Joe Camp was fired from the school where he served for the last 20 years. He experienced layoffs in September and a month later his father died of Covid-19.
He was devastated by all these trials. “It put me in a dark place,” said Camp. “But I have lots of friends and family telling me to stick with it, still believe in myself.”
In order to make a living, this man who already has grandchildren works at a car dealership. Until one day on Christmas Eve, he got a miracle when he swiped the lottery at the gas station. He won a Gold Rush worth IDR 3.5 billion.

“I knelt at the gas station,” said Joe Camp as he won his prize, describing his luck in a news release from the North Carolina Lottery.
He said he would use the golden ticket money for his family, including buying a new house that could be passed on to his grandchildren and pay for his daughter’s education.
“What I plan to win with my win is to have a future for my daughter,” he said. “I want to have something for us. I never had anything before.”
“Nobody inherits anything, and that’s what I want to do.”
